Moradin, God of Earth and Dwarves

Moradin is the God of Earth and Stone, Diamonds and Gold, of Loyalty, Courage and Perseverance. Many people with a strong bond with the earth worship Moradin, or bring him offerings in the form of precious stones, or metals. Moradin is one of the Elder Gods and he has been in the multiverse almost since its creation. Since then he has been known and worshipped under many names. Moradin is not widely worshipped under His original name any more, though He has a large following in dwarf societies on some worlds. Most other races with a strong earth-bond, such as Pech, Gnomes, Swirfneblin and Duergar also have large Moradin followings, but usually under a different name. Moradin also has a number of children, who are Gods themselves, but with a slightly different Aspect. Luna and Scorch are said to be well known children of Moradin, worshipped in the Gargoyle faction.

Almost all Gods worshipped by the members of the Gargoyle faction are either Moradin with a different name, of one of Maradin's children. On the Vortex, Moradin has always been the God of the Gargoyle faction. The bond of the faction members with Moradin is so strong, that in the year 997 they went on a quest, where He appeared before them and granted them a sacred Shield and Helmet, to be used in His name and for the honour of the faction. From then on, each year 2 faction members who have served the faction exceptionally well, are awarded the honour of bearing the Shield, or Helmet for the coming year. The Gargoyle faction leader Griswold Stonehead was also present on the quest in 997 and from then on has been a devout follower of Moradin. He will strive to uphold the ideals of Loyalty, Courage and Perseverance.
